It’s a new DigitalDay

Hello, again.

Anyone who’s followed the web design industry in Northeast Ohio over the past 10 years is probably familiar with DigitalDay. They’ve seen the company reinvent itself several times. For those unfamiliar, here’s a quick history from my personal perspective:

In the late 90’s, DigitalDay rode the Internet wave to become one of the largest web design agencies in the Midwest.  With more than 90 people in it’s West Akron office, the agency knocked out sites for national and international clients including The Sherwin-Williams Company, GE Plastics, Goodyear Tire & Rubber, National City Bank and The J.M. Smucker Company.  They were wild, naive times — everyone was learning, some were passionate, some just looking to make a big buck. The company could not survive the dot-com bust. It’s implosion was imminent.

While Rome burned, a small group of the original and core members,  including me, resigned DigitalDay, banded together and formed DigitalDay Creative Group (hence our current URL, www.ddcg.com).  We picked a couple of the key clients out of the ashes and began rebuilding the business as an online marketing and web design boutique. We narrowed our focus to on-line branding, web strategy, design and content development. Our goal was to get back to our roots — smart strategy and killer creative backed with leading edge technology and strong customer service. For the most part, it’s worked.

Over the last several years, we’ve been quietly re-shaping and re-growing our business.  Our management changed and consolidated, our online services and expertise expanded and our client base has grown. Shane Geisheimer and I own and manage today’s DigitalDay. On a day-to-day basis, Shane oversees the technology and the programming staff and I direct the creative.  While staying true to our core design strengths, we’ve become experts in “Web 2.0” on-line marketing strategies including E-mail Marketing, Search Engine Optimization & Marketing, E-commerce Applications and, of course, Web Design. We’ve become the web agency of record for several national consumer and B-to-B brands as evident in our portfolio.  We think we’re well positioned as a full-service on-line marketing agency in today’s savvy Internet environment.

So, to old and new friends, colleagues and clients, hello . . . again.
